Frequently asked questions, answered, right here.
Can I afford a custom bicycle?
Our goal as a local hand-built company is to make custom frames more accessible to the average Twin Cities cyclist: commuter, deliverer, weekender, adventurer, student, etc. We offer the service of working to set a budget to bring you the best bike, and attempt to keep our prices competitive with local production trends. Feel free to ask us about payment plans.
How long will it take?
That depends on how busy the shop is and how difficult the project is. We generally say expect a six-week turnaround for a basic frame. During the off season, when the queue is open and the frame and fork are designed within classic parameters, it could be less. During the summer when things are busy, it could be 8-12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the job. Check our blog for regular project time and queue updates.
What are my paint options?
Currently, we use AP Paints for our powder coating needs. The cost includes one color, any color from Prismatic, and a clear coat of gloss or matte finish. We would be happy to work out custom two-tone etc color schemes and detail work as well.
Where do you get tubing from?
Mostly from Nova-Cycles based out of California. They carry their house Nova brand, as well as Columbus and Dedaccai.
What if something breaks?
We offer the same standard warranties and warnings as any respectable frame supplier. If you have a problem with anything, contact us immediately and we will look it over and assess whether the fault was on our end or not. Please, use our bicycles for their intended purpose only, and use reasonable safety equipment and caution when deciding to ride any bicycle. We cannot and will not warranty anything outside of these parameters.
